In this epic concluding episode Dr MJ Hibbett - the world's only, and thus leading, academic expert on Doctor Doom - uses songs and rigorous research to discuss auteur theory, the world's greatest ever committee, why we don't talk about comics in the same way as other media formats, and Marvel Superheroes Secret Wars, before summarising the central message of the whole series.Featured songs:

In our penultimate episode, MJ Hibbett tests his unified catalogue of transmedia character components (please don't call it The Hibbett Methodology) on the two entirely separate characters called Dennis The Menace. This leads to an explanation of retcons and how our own memory changes and updates itself over time, the top ten Doctor Doom creators of The Marvel according to both the fan survey and the analysis, and a look at why the difference between those two lists really matters.

In this second episode MJ Hibbett - the world's only Doctor of Doctor Doom - demonstrates how character components work, proposes a unified catalogue to analyse them (which he would discourage you from calling 'The Hibbett Methodology'), gives the first proper definition of 'The Marvel Age', and explains what it is to be empirical and why it's a good idea.

'Data and Doctor Doom' is a five-part weekly podcast series in which Indie legend MJ Hibbett PhD - the world's leading (and only) academic expert on Doctor Doom - tells you all you need to know about the MCU's next big baddie.
The series is a musical adaptation of MJ's PhD thesis (yes, that makes him a Doctor of Doctor Doom). It uses songs, jokes, and a thirteen-dimensional unified catalogue of transmedia character components, to show how Doctor Doom can be explained using empirical analyses, how this can be applied to all fictional characters, and why on earth you'd want to do that.
'Data and Doctor Doom' started off as a one-man musical which MJ toured around the UK during 2025, but with the release of 'Avengers: Doomsday' imminent he thought it was time to make it available to the whole world. The first episode will be available from all podcast platforms on Tuesday 28 July, with others to follow weekly after that.
